The Farm

Founded in 2015 by five mates who transformed an old dairy farm in Metricup, only a 20 minute drive from Margaret River, Beerfarm is all about crafting great beer and good times. We serve up ice-cold beer and lunch daily, and every Friday night, we host Raise the Steaks, featuring specialty large cuts from our own Black Angus cattle. Come Sunday, it's the Sunday Smoke Show, serving up smoked meat delicacies from our farm and local suppliers. At Beerfarm, we're dedicated to creating a welcoming spot where everyone can enjoy top-notch brews, hearty food, and a relaxed atmosphere.

About Beerfarm

Our Story

With the South West being so dense with farmlands and the brewery being smack bang in the middle of some of the region’s best agriculture, ‘The Beer Farm’ was born because, well. It was exactly that! There were no doors, no roof and there was more dirt than grass. It was all hands on deck for George Scott, Ian Atkins, Craig Thommo, Ben Joseph and Josh Thomas who took turns in bartending, managing the venue, cooking the food and delivering it to the tables, all in a day’s work.

The Farm Today

Beerfarm now has over 90 staff employed in any given season, with a mass of locals, families and beer lovers alike coming through the doors seven days a week.

The days of our goofy food truck are well and truly gone, with our talented kitchen team bringing a diverse culinary background to our new state-of-the-art kitchen. Combining a love of smoked dishes and bold flavours to create our tasty seasonal menu.

Our region, The Wadandi Boodja (South West), is our home, filled with some of the best breweries, wineries and local producers in the country. We’re surrounded by beautiful beaches, surf breaks, vineyards, caves and forests, with our brewery located on 160 acres of rolling green farmlands roamed by our herd of Black Angus Cattle.

Farm To Plate Philosophy

Our herd of Black Angus Cattle spend their days grazing and tucking into the spent grain leftover from the brew, which is packed with nutrients. We know what they’re fed, where they roam, and have a very clear insight into a supply chain that has minimal impact on the animal.

Once at weight, our cattle are sent to the abattoir and then to Bullsbrook Gourmet Butchers, where the meat is aged. The larger cuts are sent to the farm and utilised across our menus, with any trim and secondary cuts used by our butcher for small goods.

The Future of Beerfarm - Beyond the Metricup Gates

Fuelled by our mission to bring our beer to as many hands as possible, our WA footprint expanded in August 2024 with the acquisition of a new production facility in Perth. Equipped for bigger, better beer, this gives us the capacity to brew at a higher volume while continuing to elevate quality. This also creates a wealth of new opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and consistency across the range. It’s a big step forward, and one which results in more beer, what a beautiful thing!

Our sell out events and hospitality offerings in Metricup continue to evolve, creating more reasons than ever to visit the Farm. Rodeo’s, live music events, community fundraisers, film screenings - we’re masters of ‘Cultivating Good Times’ here, and we’re bringing this expertise beyond the Farm gates.

Whether you’re a newcomer or long time Beerfarmer, thanks for being part of our journey as we work towards getting farm raised, farm fresh brews across the nation. From pub pints to BBQ tins, we’re scaling up to be there when you reach for a quality brew!
