Lamp Ute Muster 2019 - Beerfarm

Lamp Ute Muster 2019

Beerfarm drops the clutch and throws dust, in collaboration with LAMP to support regional mental health issues, while promoting the provision and extension of these services.

We build event schedules on our farm that revolve around positive experiences and good times, but we all know that life isn’t one continuous party, nor are we constantly showered in sunshine and lollipops. For regional areas this reality is compounded, as services can be increasingly difficult to access with a thin spread of funding needing to cover a large demographic. This is why we collaborated with the legends from LAMP (Busselton), whom tirelessly support those in need, to bring the ‘Metricup Ute Muster’ to Beerfarm in 2018. It was a pleasure to promote their services and make an effort to contribute to a more resilient and supportive community that acknowledges suicide and mental health as very real issue that has far reaching effects, but also has real legends, with real networks at their disposal to help battle the dark clouds.

So last March, we organised the first Muster, which was a day full of non-stop action with a 6 Ute category judging competition, non-stop live music and loads of activities for friends, kids and families. We raised $10, 000 to assist in the launch of ‘Backyard Blokes’, which now works as a community engagement network for those in need throughout the region. By welcoming LAMP into our venue, creating the event and educating our staff and customers about their services, we in consequence become ambassadors for their cause and would not only be proud, and look forward to hosting another event alongside LAMP, but have been empowered to help direct people who need support in their direction.

So thank you, to anyone who volunteered his or her time, resources, energy, or ute, and of course, thank you to everyone who came out and made a donation in support of these services. In doing so we have shown that our support networks are alive and healthy in the southwest, and our community is supportive by nature: so don’t forget – we got each other’s backs….and keep an eye out for the next Muster!
