Native Series #7 - Woolya Wah Red Ale

The Native Series has continued to evolve over time, taking us on an educational journey of our beautiful land and the endless sources of food and medicine it has to offer. We’ve been busy exploring the use of native ingredients through beer, while respecting their historical uses and how they are still interpreted today. We were incredibly fortunate to team up with Fervor and Roelands Village to get our hands on some WA grown Wattleseed, where we learnt of the stories behind this native ingredient, as well as vital parts of our own Australian history.

Wattleseed when lightly toasted provides a nutty, savoury character which we combined with the subtle, malty, Red Ale base for Native Series no.7. The prominent Wattleseed aroma complements the soft aniseed characters of Ahtanum hops, with a light toffee and caramel body from the Red Ale malt base. Rounded out by a firm bitterness, our Woolya Wah Red Ale is an exploration of the palate, as well as our native land which we’re lucky enough to call home.
